LIVE WEBINAR

From 2D to 3D: Optimizing MSC Expansion Through Critical Quality Attributes and Scalable Manufacturing Strategies

02 July 2026
2PM - 3PM CEST

As mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-based therapies advance toward large-scale manufacturing, robust expansion platforms must balance rapid proliferation with preservation of critical quality attributes (CQAs). In this webinar, we will explore how media selection and process optimization influence MSC quality, scalability, and manufacturing reproducibility across both 2D and 3D workflows.

Using comparative benchmarking data, we will examine MSC proliferation performance across bone marrow-, adipose-, and umbilical cord-derived MSCs, including comparisons against commonly used commercial and homebrew media systems. We will also discuss how scalable culture strategies including microcarrier-based 3D expansion can support higher yields while maintaining MSC phenotype and therapeutic potential.

What will we cover during this webinar

  • Benchmarking MSC proliferation across media platforms
  • Defining CQAs relevant for scalable MSC manufacturing
  • Transitioning from research workflows to GMP-compatible processes
  • Optimizing feeding strategies, seeding density, and microcarrier selection
  • Comparing 2D versus 3D expansion approaches for high-volume production

This session is designed for researchers and bioprocess scientists developing reproducible, scalable MSC manufacturing workflows for translational and therapeutic applications.
